Oblique Tea Pots

Yes! This is one of my favorite core moves! With summer right around the corner, I know that abs have been a topic of discussion. 🙂

Take a weight that is comfortable to you, this could be a kettlebell, a lifting plate, or a regular weight. Pick a weight that is a little out of your comfort zone but is not going to harm you (20-45 pounds). The BOSU ball is optional BUT if you want to use that, go ahead a grab one and flip it upside down so the base is on top. Stand with your feet about shoulder width apart and with a slight bend in your knees. Place the hand with the weight on one side of your body and the other on your head (pictured) or on your hip. On an exhale, go ahead a drop down to one side and inhale on your way back up. Make sure not to bend too much forward. Your goal is to keep yourself straight and just bend to the side. I always tell myself to pretend that there is a wall behind me and I have to keep myself straight with that wall. Add this move into your everyday workout!

Workout: 3 sets of 12-15 reps/side
